2. These terms

By using this website or placing an order you agree to these terms. They apply together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, Refund Policy and Payment Policy, which form part of them.

We may change these terms from time to time. The version in force when you place your order is the version that applies to that order.

3. Who can buy from us

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a legally binding contract, and you must give accurate billing and delivery details.

4. Our products

We manufacture new wooden pallets from new softwood at our Portsmouth workshop, and we also supply reclaimed pallets that we buy in, inspect and grade at the same premises. Each product page states clearly whether the pallet is new or reclaimed. Reclaimed pallets are sold as Grade A — structurally sound and fit for reuse — with age-related scuffs, staining and colour variation that are normal in second-hand timber and are not defects.

  • Dimensions are as stated on the product page, to normal manufacturing tolerances of ±5 mm.
  • Load ratings are a guide for evenly distributed static loads and assume the pallet is used correctly, on a level surface, within its rating. They are not a warranty for dynamic, racked or point loads.
  • Timber is a natural material. Variation in colour, grain, knots, resin and moisture content between boards, and minor movement or surface checking as timber acclimatises, are normal characteristics of new softwood and are not defects.
  • Our pallets are untreated and are not ISPM 15 heat-treated. They are supplied for UK domestic use only and must not be used for international export. We accept no liability for goods rejected, delayed or destroyed at a border because non-compliant packaging was used.
  • Pallets are an industrial product, not a finished furniture component. They are not sanded, sealed or certified for food contact, and they are not supplied as children's furniture. If you are repurposing them, you are responsible for preparing, finishing and using the timber safely.

5. Placing an order

Our product pages are an invitation to treat, not an offer. Placing an order is your offer to buy.

For standard sizes, the contract is formed when we send you a dispatch confirmation email. For custom sizes, it is formed when we email to confirm your approved specification and begin production. An order acknowledgement is not acceptance.

We may decline or cancel an order if:

  • The item is unavailable or we cannot make it to the specification requested
  • There has been an obvious error in the price or description
  • We cannot deliver to your address, or access is unsuitable and no alternative can be agreed
  • Payment authorisation fails, or the order is flagged by our fraud checks

If we cancel, we refund you in full without delay.

6. Custom orders and specifications

You are responsible for the accuracy of any dimensions, load requirements or drawings you give us. We build to what you approve. Once you have approved a specification in writing and production has begun, the order cannot be cancelled, changed or refunded except where the goods are faulty or do not match that approved specification. Please see the Refund Policy.

7. Price and payment

All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). No VAT is charged, as we are not VAT registered. Delivery is charged separately and shown at checkout before you pay. Payment is taken in full when you order; accepted methods are in our Payment Policy. Prices may change, but changes do not affect orders already accepted.

8. Delivery

We deliver to supported postcodes in Great Britain, kerbside, on the terms set out in our Shipping Policy. You are responsible for ensuring safe and legal vehicle access, for someone being present to receive and sign for the load, and for moving the goods from the kerbside. We will deliver within 30 days of your order unless we agree otherwise with you.

Risk passes to you on delivery. Ownership passes when we have received payment in full.

9. Cancellation, returns and refunds

Your 14-day right to cancel, the exclusion for custom-made goods, and how we refund, are set out in full in our Refund Policy.

10. Safe use

Pallets must be used within their stated load rating, on a level surface, and inspected before each use. Do not stand or climb on stacked pallets, do not use a damaged pallet, and do not exceed the rated load. If you are cutting, sanding or dismantling a pallet, use appropriate protective equipment. We are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from misuse, overloading, modification, or use of a pallet for a purpose it was not supplied for.

11. Our liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with an order is limited to the price you paid for the goods and delivery. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable. If you buy for a business purpose, we have no liability for loss of profit, business, contracts, goodwill, production or opportunity, and the consumer rights in these terms do not apply to you.

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.

12. Use of this website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not misuse it by introducing malicious code, attempting unauthorised access, scraping our content, or using it in any way that damages or disrupts it.

13. Intellectual property

All content on this website — text, photographs, product descriptions, drawings, logos and design — is owned by or licensed to Lakeside Pallets Limited and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. You may not copy, reproduce or republish it without our written permission.

14. Your account

If you create an account, keep your password confidential and tell us immediately if you believe someone else has used it. We may suspend or close an account we reasonably believe has been used fraudulently or in breach of these terms.

15. Privacy

We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection law.

16. Complaints

Email support@lakesidepallets.co.uk or call 023 9380 0319. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and resolve them within 5 working days.

17. Third-party links

Our website may link to other sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data.

18. Severance and waiver

If any part of these terms is unlawful or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not insist on a right under these terms, that does not prevent us from enforcing it later.

19. Transfer

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, and we will tell you if we do. You may only transfer yours with our written agreement.

20. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own country's courts.
